In October 2016, Nurahayati who is a blind woman was summoned by police and charge with lese majeste for posting a link to an article of Giles Ji Ungpakorn and sharing her opinion on her personal facebook. Nurahayati was released by the police during the investigation phase, she was detained in November 2017 after the indictment. Nurahayati pleaed guilty to the charge, The Yala Provincial Court sentenced her to 1 year and 6 months in prison on 4 January 2018.
